In Old French, the word "Mazis" was used to designate country houses. There must probably have been a hamlet on this location, which disappeared in the Middle Ages. Mazis-Chambertin is an extraordinary wine, powerful, complex and long in the mouth. Fairly representative of the type of hillside soil on which the vine grows. The style of the village of Gevrey is clearly perceptible.
