The 2017 Domaine de l'Amandyere l'Extravagante, made exclusively from Syrah, comes from two vineyards at 220 and 320 metres, offering both exceptional fruit maturity and lively freshness. The wine displays an intense bluey-purple hue with black highlights and a discreet, complex bouquet of blackberries, blackcurrants, and subtle spicy notes of black and Szechuan pepper that open fully with aeration. On the palate, it is velvety and fresh, with smoky, woody, and gentle vanilla nuances enhancing its fine structure. Mellowed yet present tannins provide balance and persistence, while the rich aromatic complexity—from dark fruits to spices and delicate vegetal hints—creates a charming, full-bodied experience. Best served at 13–14°C after decanting, it pairs beautifully with robust dishes like lamb, hare, or bull.
